New PAN Application FormsThe Income Tax Department introduced updated category-specific application forms to streamline the process. You must use the correct form to avoid processing delays or rejections: [1, 2]

• Form 93: Individual Indian citizens (replaces old Form 49A).
• Form 94: Non-Individual Indian entities like Companies, LLPs, or Partnerships.
• Form 95: Individual foreign citizens, NRIs, and OCIs (replaces old Form 49AA).
• Form 96: Non-Individual foreign entities

• Proof of Identity (PoI): Aadhaar card (mandatory for resident individuals), Passport, or Voter ID.
• Proof of Address (PoA): Utility bills (not older than 3 months), property registration documents, or bank passbooks.
• Proof of Date of Birth (PoDOB): Birth certificate, matriculation certificate, or passport.
• Photographs: Two recent color photographs (3.5 cm × 4.5 cm) are required for physical/paper applications

1. Online via Authorized Portals: Access the official Protean PAN Application Portal or the UTIITSL PAN Portal to fill out the form digitally.
2. Payment: The fee is Rs. 91 for communication addresses in India and Rs. 862 for foreign addresses. Payment can be made using net-banking, credit/debit cards, or demand draft. 
3. Verification: Online applications are often verified instantly using Aadhaar OTP or E-Sign. Physical applications (and uploaded documents) may need to be mailed to the relevant processing center.
