The TAN Application FormsThe Income Tax Department has streamlined TAN allotment by distinguishing between government and non-government entities: 

• Form 134: Exclusively for Government Deductors (e.g., Central/State ministries, PSUs, autonomous bodies). This requires an Account Office Identification Number (AIN) and official certification.
• Form 135: For Non-Government Deductors (individuals, HUFs, companies, LLPs, partnership firms, and trusts).

1. Navigate to the Protean TIN-NSDL Portal or the official Income Tax India Portal.
2. Fill out Form 134 or Form 135 online.
3. Make the processing payment (₹65 plus tax) using a Demand Draft, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit card.
4. An acknowledgment slip will generate upon successful payment. Print, sign, and mail the acknowledgment along with any necessary physical documents to Protean eGov Technologies Limited.

1. Download Form 134 or Form 135 directly from the Protean TINpan Downloads Page.
2. Fill the form in duplicate and attach all required supporting documents.
3. Submit the physical application at any TIN Facilitation Center (TIN-FC).

• Government (Form 134): Requires AIN details and an authorized certification from the PAO, JAO, DTO, or CDDO.
• Non-Government (Form 135): Requires your PAN, along with proof of entity incorporation or registration (e.g., CIN for companies, LLP registration number)
